Good Morning,
This is my 1st post as I am looking to buy my first Hoe. My question is how concerned should I be with a 3.73 vs 3.42 or even the 4.10 rear as far as mpg and or performance. It will have the 5.3 not the 6.0.
Any thoughts would be great
Thanks Mike

Depends on how concerned you are with gas mileage and if you do any towing. As far as I know, as someone can correct me if I am wrong, the 3.42 rear will net you better gas mileage.

true...with the 5.3, the 3.42's are fine...I have the 4.8, 3.42's and 20" wheels and it's perfect...you'll have more low end with the 5.3 then I too...

It also depends on your overall driving style if you do more highway you will get better mileage with 3.42 but if you do city 3.73 or 4.10 is better because it will get you up to speed quicker. Also if you plan to do any towing I would go with 3.73 or higher.

Pfisto did you buy? Now is THE BEST time to buy one of these trucks. The value has dropped so much lately. What year are you looking for?

What's standard rear end on 2000 Z71?

And how does that affect mileage? Thanks!

No doubt there. I just bought an 03 for WAY under KBB. Paid 9995 for it. Way nicer than my old VW GTI and a lower payment. I can afford to finance 22's!! lol
