2001 Tahoe LT 5.3 2wd, front and rear a/c

I will do just about anything to resolve this problem.
When the a/c is working it works very well.

Some times while driving the a/c just stops working and the a/c light goes off on the control head. Then it may come back on or not. The only thing I have done was to unplug the a/c control head and then replug it in and it seems to work for as long as it wants to. There is no rhym-or-reason the a/c shuts off and then comes back on it just does it. I welcome any ideas and will try any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Well, these new-fangled gadgets are computer controlled nowadays. Since your A/C light went off, I would suppose that the computer is shutting it down. On my `99, just about everything goes thru the Vehicle Control Module (VCM), located on the left fender. You could look at the other thread about fuel guage shimmy, connector pinouts there, but I sure your 2001 is quite different. Anyway, reseating the large connectors there couldn't hurt, might be intermittant connection. But you MUST disconnect battery ground first!
