Thanks Sasquatch... it's ok though... after some searching, I'm most likely gonna go for the Sanden HT6 on Ebay. It's going for $195 + $20 ship... and it looks like it has a 1 piece body. As much as I hate to throw more cash at AC system... I hope this takes care of it for a long time, troublefree time.

trying to understand how rear ac can work and not front they use the same comp,

How much freon are you putting in? With the rear air it takes like 4 lbs if I remember right. Also if it leaks down in a week or 2 it has to be a pretty big leak. There should be some oil residue where ever it is leaking. You really need to get a set of gauges on it and see what both the low and high side are doing. It's possible that your front evaporator is plugged and that's why it's not getting cold.

The compressor should kick out at around 20 psi on the low side and kick in at around 40 to 45. You might end up needing to take it in to someone who knows about a/c.
