does anyone know the sizes of the fittings for the rear ac lines. I was told by a service tech, that one of my lines had a pinhole in it( i understand a common problem with the original aluminum lines), and wanted to charge me $900 to replace them and then additional for servicing. I have since bought some aftermarket "soft" lines for the tahoe($260), I have some of the wrenchs but others seem to be metric i suppose. rather than buying an entire kit i would prefer to buy only the sizes that i would need. It seems that on a given hose the two ends are different sizes.

thanx for the assist

Could pick up a set of calipers real cheap and measure the fittings.... IIRC I paid $10 for my digital set at Harbor Freight....

ok, i got the right wrenches, but am having a really difficult time with the two fitting in the rear that attach to the condenser unit. the lines coming off of the unit appear to be aluminum and the connecting hoses are aluminum as well, but the nuts appear to be steel. Is there a good solvent that i can use to break down some of the corrosion around the line nuts to get them loose. I've tried PB blaster, but i don't know how effective it is on aluminum

Bar none, the best penetrant out there is called Aero Kroil. Kind of pricey but does work. Plus you have to spray the threads and let it soak. Best if overnight after 2-3 sprays. PB Blaster will likely work too but not as good as Aero Kroil. Again, need to let it soak in to the threads. It is not something done in an instant. Be prepared to find out that the soft threads at the condenser may get damaged when take apart. It happens.
