I have a 99 tahoe. Ive had it for about 3 years now. A couple months after i got it i noticed that when i press on the gas firmly (like coming out of a gas station onto a busy street) the truck would make this jerking feeling and it would like go into neutral for about 5 seconds and when i would let off the gas it felt like it went back into drive and then it would ride just fine.it doesnt happen every day...maybe like every other week. Ive tried putting some tans. Slip fluid in it and its still doing it.
What is the problem?

Welcome to the neighborhood!

It sounds like you could have either a bad solenoid in the tranny itself, or torque converter lockup issue making it slip. It would be wise to try to find someone with a data logger capable scanner so that you can duplicate the problem with the datalogger hooked up and see if the system will tell you exactly what is going on when it actually happens.
