My 99 4x4x4dr Vortec 5.7litre Tahoe , The dash temp gage just stopped working. So I changed the TSU on the drivers side of the block, an still nothing from the gage . Then about a week later I stopped getting heat from any of my vent , tried all modes got nothing. So I checked radiator it was full an circulating fine , T-stat opening and closing. Then I replaced the temp blend valve ,I think thats what the parts store called it . An I still am without heater and temp gage. Any helpful thought on these matters would be warmly accepted.

sounds like air in the system. did you run it with cap open and bleed system. make sure that there is no air. air will cause no heat, run hot, temp malfunction ....

do both the hoses for the hester core get hot? let truck run for 10-15 mins and feel both heater hoses as close to the core as possible(at firewall). they should both fell equally hot to the touch. if not check core. this being said, the heater issue wont cause the temp gauge malfunction. check for air first as i stated in earlier post.
