'99/00 5.3 overlap

My buddy has a ’99 Silverado with the 5.3, this is the mysterious NBS with old year compo that existed one year, right? My question is, my ‘Ho is a 2000 with the 5.3 as well, would a Chilton’s repair manual cover both vehicles where they are both 5.3’s? He suggested we go on halves on a Chilton repair manual but there’s no sense doing that if it won’t apply to both rides.

Some '00 model 5.3s had the etc (electronic throttle control) system, rather than the typical throttle cable. Other than that, I believe everything else is the same.
