97 yukon problems

I blew head gaskets on a 97 yukon. I rebuilt the motor. However i forgot to mark the distributor. i put it back and and it was misfiring really bad but running. So then i turned cylinder 1 to TDC and put the distributor facing cylinder 1 now the motor wont even start up. any help would be appreciated greatly

i know i gotta get it to TDC but do i have the distributor pointing at wire 1 or wire 8 ive heard people say both and im not sure which ?
