Hello, I am new to this site and though I am a 11 year ASE Certified Tech, I have already learned quite a bit about my Tahoe that I was unaware of or really didnt think about being an issue. I have a couple of questions concerning the brake system on this beast, I have already searched for this topic many ways and I was still unable to find an "answer" to these questions.

To help things, I have a 97 Tahoe LS 4wd non hydroboost.

I am looking to do a mild brake conversion/upgrade because I have the usual spongy petal, I have replaced EVERYTHING in the stock brake system minus the factory metal brake lines, they have been gravity bled, manual bled and vaccume bled and I still have a spongy petal, it did not change one single bit from before I replaced everything, to after I replaced EVERYTHING. I haul a 6'x10' enclosed trailor loaded down with about 1100lbs of tools, plus the weight of the trailor alone, so I am guessing about 2500-2700lbs total and I just feel unsafe with the brakes and would love to convert/upgrade the brakes. The brakes respond exactly the same without the trailor attached, you just dont have to apply as much preasure to the petal to get it to stop.

1. Can you convert the 94-99 body style, drum brakes, over to the 00-06 rear disc, or any other year truck/suv? If so, is it a direct swap? If not, exactly what parts will be needed from what vehicles? Will I have any brake bias issues?
2. Can you convert the front calipers from the 94-99 body style, over to the dual piston calipers found on the 01-06 Yukon 4wd? If so, are the rotors the same size as mine or will I have to get the entire spindle from a 01-06 Yukon 4wd?

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Frank
