Just picked up a "new to me" 1997 Tahoe. The dealer confirmed that it is/was equipped with key less entry.(which I don't have) But, after searching by my VIN # he says it has 2 part numbers for the fob. He wasn't sure why. After searching for them on fleabay, most of the sellers want you to know the FCC info to ensure you order the correct one. Well the FCC info is on the fob I don't have. Any ideas? TIA, Al

BTW Here's the GM part #'s dealership said matched my VIN:

16245105
16207905

My guess is one of the numbers may be updated but didn't ask and he didn't seem to interested in digging deeper to help me knowing I was going to search for a used one. (can't blame him)

I would pick up an aftermarket starter with keyless, they typically have longer range than the stock stuff..... and you then have the original fobs to your new system, besides that you can get the starter, 2 fobs and usually it can be had for under $100, my last one was $60... the cost of the replacement OEM FOB in my case...... and 3x the factory spec range.....
