Any pics? The thing that brings down the price of 4 door tahoes is there are millions of them out there. From what you describe I'd say 3500 and make him give you a new battery too.
Depends on your area but 102k miles is pretty low mileage for a 96 and per your description overall seems to be in good shape save for a bump/bruise here or there. So in my area (Kansas City) that tahoe would list for 3k-3500  if you can get it for cheaper then definitely do that
WAY too much, do a search on craigslist to get an idea. Down here in Ok, they are way cheaper.
Even with just 100k on it? This is why it's so hard to predict value because every area is different. Other than a few bumps it seems like a solid ride from what we've been told and 100k is pretty low mileage for a '96  That would be listed in KC, Mo for 3-3500 all day long but possibly be able to negotiate down to 2500-3k.
i agree that its very low milage and a solid car but mayhem is right if i kbb or even nada that car in excellent shape its reall not worth more then $2800 if that
Read the descriptions, it isnt in excellent shape, there is some body damage and some stuff missing, probably Fair condition would be more likely..... print it out and take it to him....
Keep us posted.... and pix....
I have the same truck, I bought it in Chicago for a lot less than that but the guy was asking 3500 originally, let me tell you it's definitely not worth 3500 unless a lot of stuff has been fixed and or upgraded. At that age a lot of things start to break and fall apart, I've spend almost a grand in the past six months fixing and replacing the stuff I keep finding wrong with mine. And when I got it, it had the motor replaced twice already and the current motor only had 60,000 miles on it, however, given the age of that truck there's no way the mileage is correct unless it was barely ever driven, probably more like 202k in my opinion. Do your homework, have a certified mechanic go over it and tell you what they think. I can say this though, they list for 6 to 8 grand in the Kelly blue book even with over 100k miles on them.
