Just got my new Denali home and was going through the manuals when a supplement came fluttering out that says the engine needs 91 octane minimum or it will spark knock. That was a shocker. I thought I'd done my homework

Anyway, for those running the 6.2 L engine, have you had any issues with 87 octane? Pulling up to the Premium pump is no big deal now but when gas gets back to $4.00 it's going to be painful. :ack:

Kinda sucks but ya gotta use what the manufacturer wants, especially on those engines...
Nothing worse than hearing ANY engine "knocking"!

If you can buy a Denali, you should be able to put premium in it. Not to mention, don't you want all that horsepower the 6.2L puts out? I sure do, so I love putting premium in it.

put it this way.... right now you will proabably pay about $61 to fill up with 87 octane, and if you did 91 octane it would be about $66. When times get tough, just eliminate a Starbucks cofee or two, and you save an extra 5 bucks for 91 octane! :)
