I'm really into bio-diesel. I got a buddy from motor t. That can get me an old 6.5 from out of the humv. I know it's gonna cost. But if I can do it for under 5-6 grand. Then I'll prolly do it. I'm a decent mechanic and I know how to spin wrenches. And I couldn't afford the gmc 2500 4x4 I really wanted.

It's got the 5.7 in it right now with about185,000. And it's really starting to show wear.

Find a donor truck because you are going to need a lot of stuff... Bio-diesel is ok run a Cat fuel filter with additive if you do it.

The frame on the front of the truck may be a little insubstantal for a diesel as they do weigh alot more, will need some suspension stuff too I suppose.......

I say go for it, but I would get a donor truck, swap all the diesel parts and then put your gas parts in the truck. Then sell the truck.
I want to convert mine, but was leaning toward the 4bt cummins.
If you do it, good luck.

The factory 6.5L had bigger brakes, Hydroboost Master cylinder, bigger 2500 suspension and 4L80 transmission.

I wanted a 6.5 badly.. That is until I bought my '95 2 Door..
Nothing but expensive problems until it threw a Rod through the pan, while on the Expressway last year.

Replaced it with a 4 Door Gasser and pulled all my new parts off the 2 Door..

Good Luck
