4wd

my moms 96 2 door tahoe is 2wd, and im just wondering what it would take to make it 4wd.
the 2wd is hell in snow, but shes had a rental for the past couple months for business, and me, well i have a jeep
but anyways, what all would have to be swapped out?
its not something that we/i would do in the near future anytime, just something im curious about

It would most likely cost more to convert it to 4 wheel drive than to just find a 4 wheel drive one.

It's not possible. The front frame stubs are way different. 2wd has a crossmember under the engine and a 4wd does not. That's just the start, but its the biggest difference. Just sell it and find a 4wd

i know it would be easier to just buy a 4wd model, which my mom is thinking about doing, (00-06 style)
but just out of curiousity, it cant be done??
