So today I took delivery of a 2014 Tahoe LS. Came with the stock bells & whistles. This was purchased under a fleet deal. The upgraded stereo installed, no navigation, except I noticed on the dealer invoice "XM RADIO DELETE -$100" on the invoice. Apparently our fleet vehicles have the XM Receiver omitted from the vehicle. So, do some digging on the internet today when I get home, and notice GM has their U2K XM Receiver. eBay has these rascals for like $60 each.
First off, I did some searching on the internet and the receiver is behind the glove box (on a 2012 or 2013), Couldn't find anything else on a 2014. Its definately not there when I scroll through the options on the headend radio. Next I need to verify if the cabling is there. If the cable is NOT there, I am not finding any cable kit available that runs from the U2K receiver to the radio itself. Has anyone installed this on a 2012 or 2013 Tahoe? My understanding the 2014 is the same as prior builds of the vehicle.
Any help would be appreciated. Ideally I would like the XM receiver integrated versus a stand-alone receiver with AUX input.
Where does the XM receiver mount or live within the vehicle?
