I've just purchased a new 2012 Tahoe LTZ. I'm noticing that it's a real dog with the air conditioning on. So much so it falls on it's face pulling away from a stop. It feels like turbo lag but it doesn't have a turbo. With the air off it jumps off the line and has great accelleration. Has anyone else noticed this.

I would at least take it in and have the AC checked out good. If it is causing that much drag on the engine then the compressor may be bad. Does it blow cold?

The AC is cool. I wouldn't call it cold. I'll have it checked out. It only has 3500 miles on it. But you never know. Thanks.

Yeah, unfortunately, that is one of those things that is suppose to be a part of the "dealer prep" to get new vehicles ready for delivery to the customer. The dealership may not have performed the proper charging of the system to begin with. I would recommend taking it back to the dealership and make sure they performed ALL the proper dealer prep stuff, up to and including making sure ALL the fluids are at their proper levels, etc. Tranny, differentials and all. It is far too common for dealers to skimp on the prep of the new vehicles.
