Hello Everybody!!

Thought i would join have a couple of questions on my Tahoe. I have been experiencing oil consumption starting june 2011. Since then truck has been at dealer for 4 times now with same problem. 3 weeks ago was a little different, reversing and when put into drive something popped and truck died. 5 minutes later it started but had check engine light on. Called On Star and they said it had fried a relay in the hybrid system. Dealer ran scanner on it and came up with 6 codes, according to them a relay was burned and a harness that was sliced oh and last but not least, it needed a new battery pack as well. Before they took it into to the back I told the service tech to check the oil just in case it was low again, well thank god we checked it, it was dry again. It had just been "fixed" 3 weeks before that so now it started to worry me.
Has anybody else had this problem before? If so what was the fix? Supervisor at the dealership said they will fix hybrid system and get new engine for truck since its already 4 times with same problem and they can't find a fix for it.

My advice...trade it. That is a common problem. First thing they do is put a deflector in the engine. Next thing is new pistons and rings. Your ok in warranty but out of warranty you're looking at a big repair. Google it and you will find many problems with that engine. Mine is getting new lifters ($2800.00) as I type because of problems with the AFM 4/8 cylinder feature. Seems the lifters they used on those engines are no good.
