2007 Tahoe Oil Filter Question

Picked up a sweet Bermuda Blue Z71 earlier this summer. Twice now while performing oil changes Ive noticed that when you unscrew the oil filter it seems to hemmorage oil all over the place - I take special care to keep the old filter in the upright position, but oil spills every where. I'm guessing up to 8 to 10 ounces ends up spilling - and thats after letting the oil pan drain for 10-15 minutes. Am I doing something wrong? Comments anyone?

Hey man,

The easiest way to avoid this is to use a small punch and put a small hole in the bottom side of the filter to let all the oil drain out.
