Hello everyone- i have a 2007 tahoe ltz- with 60k. Parked the truck the other night and everything was fine. Went back in it and the next morning the whole interior smelled like smoke. None of the functions on the driver side would work, windows door locks etc.. Took the switch off and the harness melted itself to the switch-shorted it all out. None of the fuses blew. Has anyone heard of this in a tahoe? Pretty scary considering it was parked... Brought it to the dealer and they want almost 700 to fix. I can buy the parts for 200 and install them. I then have to have someone program the switch to make it compatible with my tahoe. I know they recalled the 2007 trailblazer for the same thing. Any feedback is appreciated.

Wow thats crazy... never seen that before and believe me I see alot of Tahoes on a daily basis... any chance the DDM (Driver Door Module) may have gotten water intrusion at one time or another if not kinda wondering if the circuit breaker for the window motor shorted out to where it stayed latched do you remember if you rolled up your window prior to parking it for the night

I do not think any water got into the module or on the door. When i took the shell of the door off it was dry. The window was up when it happened. Do not remember if i rolled it down and up when drivimg ot that day. I order a new master switch and wiring harness. I am going to intall it and have a technician program it. Will let you know how it goes.thanks

Well if you have a digital multimeter you can ohm it out but its the opposite of checking a fuse you want an open reading when its not activated it only closes the circuit when energized for the up or down auto feature for the windows operation you know like when you hit the window switch and it continues to roll up or down even with the window switch being depressed or lifted

Rockenthebowtie- maybe you can help with this question. The instrument panel fuse box(by the drivers side door) is supposed to have the Drivers side power window circuit breaker-it does not. It shows it in the owners manual, but its not in the fuse box. The fuse box near the brake pedal only has circuit breakers for the passenger side windows and the drivers side seat. Is this possible? I cant find it anywhere.

I will have to upload them. I think the circuit breaker is on the back side of the fuse box
