2006 Tahoe to Tahoe z71 spec

just purchased a 06 tahoe LS2. Government surplus. I want to modify it to a Z71 off road spec. what exactly do i need to replace. TIA.

It was actually mostly serious. If you wanted a tahoe at "Z71 spec" then buy a Z71. My next question to you is your Tahoe LS2 a 4 wheel drive already? If so the only thing you're missing from a Z71 is probably a skid plate and extra cladding. Z71 is really nothing special over another 4x4 other than the skid plate and some cosmetics.

With that said if your current tahoe is a 2wd then my original post is 100% serious.

if i could have afforded a z71.. i would have bought one. I do have 4x4 and skid plates are not the only differences.. even i know that. a z71 has high performance shocks, skid plates, and i believe suspension upgrades... oh well i will find out from a chevy dealer.

Im with you that 07burb... its going to probably cost him just as much to up grade if he's noteven sure what the basics are especially if he's going to try and do it himself whats going to get damaged during the upgrades.. lol
