I drove my tahoe this morning and when I shut it off I don't remember the fan running. I got back in the car about 2 hours later the battery was dead. As soon as I hooked up the jumper cables the fan kicked on and will not shut off. I got the Tahoe started and charging the battery again but no matter what position I place the ac fan speed control in the fan runs at full speed. I shut the car off and it is still running fast speed. I pulled the 2 fuses (HVAC1 and I can't remember the name of the other) inside the car and the fan continues to run. Any ideas what it could be? I have looked through the website and on google and found alot of Blower motor resistor failures but in all those cases it appears that the fan either wouldn't work at all or only on the higher speeds that bypass the resistor. Mine has been completely opposite in that the higher speeds stopped working months ago and now the fan won't stop running.
I have the electronic blower module repair that makes the fan run every 30 minutes or so to blow out any condensation that may have collected from the AC system. I think that kicked the fan on after I drove the car but didn't shut the fan off. Any other ideas?
Thanks for any and all help I can get on this.
