Sorry - I initially posted in the 2007 -2008 forum, mine is a 2005.

Here's my story:

I'm new to the forum and am hoping someone can help.

This past weekend, I noticed several areas of paint bubbling from rust on the rear bumper of my 2005 Tahoe. The largest area is about 2 inches long by 1 inch high.

The truck has 38,950 miles on it, and the 3 year warranty went out the beginning of this month. My wife took it to the Chevy dealer and was basically told that unless it was rusted through, there isn't anything they could do. Claim they have talked to Chevrolet in the past on similar issues, and Chevy wasn't willing to do anything. Disappointing, because we have a fair amount of service work done there and purchased a new vehicle there about a year ago.

She has sent an email to Customer service from the main website, but hasn't heard back yet.

This just doesn't seem right. The rest of the vehicle is in great condition, and it is clear that the problem was there before the warranty time expired.

Anyone have any helpful ideas? For what it's worth, I live in the Milwaukee, WI area.

Thanks.
