Hi, I am a new member to the forum. On a recent trip, 450 miles from home, the transmission of my 2004 Tahoe Z71 went out. Obviously, I am out of the 36 month guarantee option. This car only had 13K and change on it. Couldn't get it back to my dealer so had to have it repaired on location. GM picked up the parts cost and I picked up the labor to the tune of $1600, to re-build it. What would you have done? When I got home I called GM Customer Service and tried to get them to spring for the entire amount. No deal. As you can conclude from the mileage, this car has been pampered. It has never even towed anything. Bottom line is I love the ride and thinking about trading it for an '08 but once bitten, twice shy.
