so I bought a 2004 Tahoe 5.3l with 157,000 on it. The coolant container had a dark dried substance on the inside of the entire container, but the coolant when I checked it had good color.... The oil color is fine. I'm nervous about the consistent THIN white smoke that comes out the exhaust, current around 50-55 degrees out. After about 15 mins of idling the smoke was still coming out. Again it's thin but this dried dark substance inside the coolant container has me worried. Oil color is fine, coolant looks like mud when you check in the tank because of this dried crap inside but it's color is fine when checked ...

Praying I'm just worrying too much and it's nothing lol

The coolant bottle is showings signs of corrosion built up in the system before someone changed out coolant and added new coolant/water mix. The thin white smoke could be a sign of problems and maybe not. I would make sure the throttle body plate is cleaned, get cleaner at the parts store and follow instructions. Also, get MAF cleaner and again follow instructions. If you have a shop in the area that you trust you can have them check at the open radiator neck with an emissions sniffer for any hydro carbons in the coolant, indicating leakage at the head gaskets.
