i have a 2003 tahoe lt 4wd 5.3, 155k, just bought it, went to start and noticed no cluster lights working and gauges not moving, turns over but will not start, had flat bedded down to service shop, unloaded truck and it started, drove a 4 miles and parked it at shop, ran fine, next morning, exact same thing, no cluster lights, no start, change ignition switch, not the the slot where the key goes but the square box where the wires plug in..still no start..any ideas?!

Sounds like a bad ground. I had to go to one of the chevy dealers here and remove a remote start that was being blamed for the same reasons your describing. Pulled the remote start and still had the problem. All that was on the repair bill was faulty ground drivers side. That's all I know. I would pull the carpet and lower dash apart. Then turn the key on and start wiggling ground points and wire harnesses and try to get the dash lights to come on.

had fuel pump replaced last week, all is well. weird how dash lights coincided with no start everytime, but either way with 155k it was due for a pump
