newbie here, hi guys ..... need help,
yesterday my wife was at a light , she went to take off and she heard a strange "snapping", "popping" noise ( according to her ) and the truck lurched forward a little . I called my mechanic and over the phone told me it could be ac compressor. When i sit at a light and turn on ac , the truck runs real rough, he said if the compressor is going bad ,it could put alot of strain on the motor. So i dropped it off today , he had 3 guys drive it and said he cannot hear anything!!!! There is definitly something wrong , i feel it and so does my wife.
I took the truck for another ride and i hear like a whining noise as i accelerate with ac off also. The truck idols fine , and the tranny doesnt feel like its slipping. Its kinda sound like a loud tork converter , i kinda get the same noise as when i put the truck in AWD in bad weather. i bought the truck new and noticed when i put in AWD , something must get activated and the truck sounds a little different .
Its very hard to explain , BUT SOMETHING IS DEFINITLY UP !!!!!!!
Was thinking maybe a gearbox , tork convertor, water pump, even something with the tranny. Tranny oil was changed at 80000 , truck now has 105000 miles on it with no major problems ......yet. Gauges all ok, no check engine light, no other clues
Need some suggestions because i really dont want to bring it to the dealer and be told everything is ok and they charge me a couple of hundred bucks
