2002 Tahoe wont start with half tank of gas

Hmmm...Just received 2002 Tahoe and found out that the truck wont start with any gas less than 1/2 tank. I could continue to drive it below half tank but it wont start back up until I put more than half tank back in! Basically it thinks its on empty when it reaches half tank. Any similar problems found like this by anyone?Any suggestions?

you have a faulty fuel level sensor. it's in the tank

i have a similar problem.

my 2000 tahoe needs several tries before it will start if the tank is only 1/4 full. however, i'll be able to drive at lease 80 miles with what is left in the tank.
and yes, the car needs to stand absolutely level. otherwise it will not start if the tank is at 1/4 or less.

strange thing. don't think the problem with my tahoe is because of the fuel level sensor
