Hi all,
New to the forum, I am normally a diesel dude. My wife's 2002 Tahoe, 5.3L is throwing a cylinder 1 misfire. I suspected the wires/plugs, and replaced them. It has 99K on it anyway, so no biggie. No fix. Then, I swapped 1 and 3 coil packs, still no fix, and still throwing the code. It does not sound like a miss at all, or act like it. Still has good power, idles smoothly, etc. It actually throws a solid light below about 1500 RPM, then flashes above that.
This leads me to the fuel system. I have not checked the mass airflow sensor yet, and am wondering if a shot of carb cleaner might unstick something. A buddy of mine said dirty injectors are becoming increasingly common since gas is getting dirtier.
1. Would a fuel filter change be warranted, and even if that is dirty, why would it cause a P0301?
2. How hard is it to replace injectors, or can a shop flush them?
Any advice is very much appreciated, thanks a bunch!
