Hello, i have an 01 Tahoe. 126,000 miles, she runs great, even with the noise thats driving me insane! It started low from behind the air vent 2 months ago. Come and goes. is now quite loud, and is kind of like a rough bearing going out sound. I took to shop, and of course the noise stopped, they said a/c belt is very bad and needs changing, so i should do that as well as the serpentine belt. But there is no squealing or squeeking. It seemed to only do when i was at a stop and then accelerated, now today just sitting at a light it started. I popped the hood today with it running and the clicking, clanking rough noise was more prounced on the passenger side down by the a/c belt. Im going to change the a/c belt of course, but I dont think that is going to get it. I turned off the a/c when noise starts, noise continues. Does it in reverse as well. I there anyone that has had the same experience and any ideas that could point me or my mechanics in the right direction? thank you.
