Replaced water pump, serpentine belt and A/C belt. Now the idle of my 2001 Tahoe sits around 500 RPMs and will stall at slow speeds, i.e., turning into a parking spot or at red light. None of these probelms happened prior to changing the items above.

Tried to hook up a diagnostic meter but that would not register (but would on another truck). Tried to reset my electrical system by disconnecting battery but that didnt seem to work. No crackes or issues with intake. Checked all fuses with meter no issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

btw, in park, idle sits at 500 RPMs and doesnt move. As sson as I put into gear (reverse, drive) it drops to 300-200 RPMs.

I also have a 2001 Tahoe, My RPM's are low also, the lowest any vehicle i've ever owned, but it seems normal. I'm right about 500 RPM's. A buddy of mine who is a mechanic at a Ford dealership even said it was low but I've never had any problems with stalling out.
Have you the cleaned the MAF, Throttle Body, and Intake?? I would do that and see if that fixes the intake issue.

I've got a 2001 LS 2WD and have this problem as well. Or had...we will see. I cleaned the throttle body (which was very gummed up) and the MAF (which looked fine). Afterward my idle was still at 500rpms but it wasn't bouncing down to 300 and 400rpms. I also did a bunch of tight turns with my foot off the accelerator to try and reproduce the issue and stall the truck but it remained running. I'll keep this thread update with the results over the next few days.
