2001 Chevy Tahoe dies

Hey Guess My buddy has 01 Tahoe with the 5.3. When the engine is cold he goes to start it, fires up and dies. Goes to restart and has to rev it uop fro about 30 seconds and seems to run then.

take a look at the MAF and the throttle body. how many miles are on it?

Also check the IAC motor and air bypass passage in the tb.

Definately take a look at the throttle body. Remember if there is a lot gunk on the back of the throttle body the engine's computer can't control the amount of air that gets into the engine.
