Hello, i currently have a 98 tahoe with the 3rd row seat option. I can take pics if needed. Anyways 2 of the floor brackets thats bolted down to the floor is loose. Its a carriage bolt(black) that actually holds this bracket down to the floor. It became so rusted that i cant tighten or loosen them. Probably from being exposed under the truck to water over the yrs.
Ive been to the local dealerships, and having no luck. As most say its no longer available. I have all the fasteners and bolts to hold the seat down to the brackets bolted to the floor. Just need to replace those carriage bolts for that hold the brackets down any ideas where to find these? Thanks for your time.

Just a couple of thoughts. Try an auto wreckers, they may have the bolts from a wreck. Or carriage bolts are available from most fastner suppliers, take a picture and some measurments to them and they should be able to fix you up. Or use a nut splitter to get the nut off and run thread chaser over the bolt then replace the nuts. Use lots of never cease so it doesn't happen again in the near future.

hardware store, homedepot and you can paint them black. coat them with bearing
grease after you bolt them down so the threads won't rust.

Out of curiosity I would like to see photographs of the brackets you are referring to. I am confident that the GMT 400 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (model year 1998 was the GMT 400 platform) did not have a third row seat option from the factory. You must have some sort of modification or aftermarket setup. I am curious to see what it looks like.

okay guys, thanks for input, looks like im goin "the ol fashion way". Was headed in that direction, just always havin bad luck matching bolts, maybe this one is will be easier/common.

@ the pictures...
I will take some and get them up asap(within couple days). The 3rd row seat is in shed, and covered, but brackets are all exposed. But i must say it matches perfectly. Its like a miniature 2nd row. Just thought about looking on the seat again to see if there is a manufacturer label.

Ill be back, thanks again...

Thank you, I have a feeling you have the third row seats from a GMT 400 Chevrolet Suburban retrofitted in your vehicle from what you have described.

you can get the third row brackets off ebay. you will have to cut holes in the floor and

have them welded in.
can't remember this site that sells 3rd row seats for are suv's but they was really
pricey
