I just got this Tahoe 170,000 miles on the trans has already been replace cleaned the MAF and EGR . The problem we are having is that it surges while driving at freeway speeds rpm's seem steady but you can feel it surge . No engine light any help thanks.

Hey my 97 2 door did the same thing. New a mechanic friend who actually turned the distributor the slightest bit and it fixed the problem! I know they have a computer timed sensor but it did work. A bunch of mile it did it again and it turned out to be the O2 sensors. Replaced all and that fixed it again.

start with timing ck with a scanner i think it needs to be within 2 deg of tdc. ck retard. ck plugs, wires, fuel filter, look for improper ground or lack there of. Could be a bad cat. could be 02 sensor.... could even be a bad cylinder. take it to a shop for proper diag. dont just start throwing parts at it. Unless, you see something thats obviously screwed up
