First,
Thanks for all the information I obtained BEFORE I bought a used 1997 Tahoe today! I was able to check the critical stuff, ask the right questions and (I think) get a killer deal on a used Tahoe.
I wanted one for my involvement in ham radio, Scouting, search/rescue and just because I've seen them and liked them.
Have a couple of things to fix and tweak but I am a very happy camper.
Two questions that I've not figured out. I see that there seems to be a tray for a second battery (which is GREAT for ham radio). Any "gotcha" items I need to know about in adding a second battery?
Also, under the hood on the relay/fuse board, there are two hefty binding posts called AUX 1 and AUX 2. Not having a tech manual (yet) I have no idea what these do. Can I use them for the second battery? For my ham radio connection?
Lastly. The Airbag warning light stays on. I'm not too worried (should I be?) but this was the only caution item in the whole deal and the price was lowered so I could get it fixed. Any thoughts? The light comes on, flashes like it should, and then stays on. Is this something I could troubleshoot? Any way to read a code to see what it's trying to warn me about?
THANKS in adavance. I hope to get up to speed and be able to contribute someday, for now I'm on the receiving end.
