Slow start, try holding throttle 1/4 way and cranking. Blackening of plugs is probably carbon buildup from overfueling ( Bad FPR? Leaking down fuel injectors? )

okay well it didn't want to start today it took a couple of times to actually get it started pretty sure the starter is going out on it well it sounds like it. but I was able to get started after I got jumper cables hooked up to it. but I got some new parts for the truck. I was able to get the pump for the mpfi conversion as long with a starter, distributor, fuel pump, fuel filter, gaskets, oil filter and many other things. I got a deal that I couldn't pass up for the stuff and everything is all new! ill start woeking on it tomorrow and see where things take me from there and hopefully everything gets fixed this go around.

i was thinking about changing out coolant because i looked at the radiator cap and it looked brown lol

Yeah, do the coolant flush/fill, also replace the LIM gaskets with the newer rubber over steel backing ones so that wont be a concern later on. Change the oil when you are done.

lol stupid question but where is the Lim gaskets located at? ive never done a coolant flush yet. I've been reading and see where they just get there garden hose and put it in there radiator and flush it like that and then some that use the dex-cool? what would be the best way to flush it out? thank you again for all the help.

Lower Intake Manifold gaskets are directly between the heads and the yucky half of the intake you still have on the engine.

As far as a flush, usually you buy the flush stuff, drain, refill with water and the flush, run for a while (few days I did on mine), then drain, refill. Use distilled water if you can (it is $0.88 /gal at walmart)

I haven't been able to get it anything done due to work but now were on block leave so going to try and finish it within the next days so. I will be replacing the head gaskets too just taking precautions and making sure those aren't bad.

I got the the radiator flush/cleaner. I got two bottles of that. how many gallons of distilled water does it take?

I will be changing out the oil pan gasket due to it leaking and switching out the transmission filter. I am looking up jack stands will be buying from HF and cant deicide which ones to go with either the 3 ton or 6 ton?

3 ton stands are fine, 6 ton are usually taller and harder/ clunkier to use....

Several gallons of water......

I tried but they wouldn't let me since its not under my name. All I need is for my buddy to be at dmv when I register it but trying to get him to come down is being a pain in the butt! So its just been sitting there. Lol

I finally got it registered today after so much struggle at the dmv! Worst place on earth!!!! but now I got to finish tearing apart the top end and replace the head gaskets and intake and do the mfi conversion! i just hope once i put the distributor back once it well start lol that's the only real concern I have. lol i well post pictures of the work i did today. i took the intake off and starting cleaning all the gunk off that and starting taking off the cylinder heads but the back of the exhaust is covering the last two bolts that i did to take off and the last bolt on the manifold flange is kicking my a**!!!!! just can't seem to break it but i put some pb blaster on it and well try again tomorrow!! Hopefully have it running by Friday!! what would cause both windows from not rolling down? the switches didn't seem to work either when trying to lock it on both doors. would it be a relay or fuse or just faulty connection?

Try torching troublesome exhaust bolts (I used a regular propane torch, get it pretty warm then try it again....)
