Why would they not help? You are still under the 36,000 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. Besides the bumper to bumper, there is also a rust warranty for 6 years. I would be talking to the service manager of your dealer or find a different dealer.

This is straight off the chevrolet website.

Bumper-to-Bumper (including tires):

Coverage is for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Powertrain: Coverage is for the first 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Sheet Metal:

Corrosion coverage is for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Rust-through coverage is for the first 6 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Sheet Metal

GM vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against corrosion for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Plus you’re protected even further from rust-through corrosion for a minimum of 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your GM dealer for terms of this limited warranty.

Yeah that is what I told them. I actually talked to GM and went over the service managers head(He told me that it wasn't covered)
GM told me they can only go by what the service manager tells them.
They are trying to say that it does not cover "Superficial"Rust
I took pictures and video to document the rust. The dealer said that it was do to the environment, but the paint bubbles up before the rust broke thru

If there is any rust on the vehicle at all then it is covered under the corrosion coverage. This is not an issue that is in the hands of the service manager at the dealership, period. I am not sure who you talked to at GM, but you need to find out who your regional GM rep is and contact them and let them know in no uncertain terms that if it is not taken care of then they will be facing action with civil action. They have to honor the warranty and it has nothing to do with the "attitude" of the service manager at teh dealersihp. Dealerships are all different and some just don't want to mess with certain things.

Thats who I talked to,and that is what I told them. They called my bluff.Who has the money to sue someone else.Sure i can go small claims, but I have never had much luck with that.Today I am going to go to a different dealership(The others competitor )And see what they will do for me.
GM said that if i could get another dealership to give them the "thumbs up" Then they can go ahead and replace the panels which is what i want.If they just sand it down and repaint it it will just rust again

I have to admit, threatening a lawsuit doesn't always work because it is usually extremely hard to sue a dealership or manufacturer over just about anything. I just went through that very thing going after a dealership that sold me an extended warranty contract with a term of 48 month 50K miles, but after I left the dealership they marked through the term limits and changed it to 36/36. I wound up getting my money back through the BBB, but there wasn't a lawyer in Virginia at all that would even sit with me to talk about lawsuit procedure for Virginia so that I could file myself much less representing me on a completely viable case.

I would play their competition against them and hope for the best. It sux that it has to be that way, but it is no doubt.

Good luck with the other dealership.
