I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ 4x4 and love it. I'm able to tow my boat in FL, drive around the mountains in UT (love the heated wiper fluid), and tow it behind my RV. Not many vehicles can do all of these.
I have 135k miles and I'm having a few issues
The v4->v8 mode shuddering at low speed, like rolling up to a stop sign and it stays in v4 all the way till 6-700rpm, feels like it will stall, then switches to v8. Dealer thinks, Torq Conv, but still diagnosing...
I'm also noticing more oil consumption now, 1 qrt every 1500-1800 miles or so.
I want to keep the car and am considering doing a new engine/tranny.
How much would something like that cost and where/how do I get the new motor/tranny? Or should I just repair $$
Any advice on how best to proceed.
