I am trying to change the front brakes on my 07 tahoe, but I cant get the calipers to release the brakes from the rotors. This is my first chevy and every other vehicle Ive had once you remove the caliper bolts the calipers just tilt forward. What am I not doing? Do I have to releave the line pressure by unscrewing the brake line?

No you shouldn't have to open the line or anything, if you've unfastened the caliper correctly and completely, it should come right off. I haven't actually had mine apart yet, so make sure it's not the type where half of the caliper separates from the side, because I'm not really sure. Just remember why opening the line is a bad idea, EVERY disc brake system is only just barely touching pad to disc if you're not applying pressure.

Have you tried a B.F. C-clamp to squeeze the caliper piston back into the cylinder enought to get the caliper off?
