I was at goodyear yesterday getting the oil changed and I told the man the truck is a 1999. Well he went to put the filter in for a 99 tahoe and it didn't fit? He looked on the door, I did as well and the mfr. date is 07/99, He said that because its after the 7month in the year then it is automatically a 2000. So there was actually a different filter for the engine of a 2000. I wonder now if I actualy have a 5.7 350 engine if the oil filter fitment was different? oh BTW for all of you out there, NO more leaks, got the pwr steering pressure hose replaced took 4 hours I mind you but no more leaks. I have goodyear wrangler mud terrains on the hoe now, has anyone had any experience with these tires??

You can check on your VIN to find out what engine you have and what year your truck is considered. The 8th character on the VIN should be an 'R' if you have the 5.7L 350 and the 10th character should be an 'X' for 1999 or 'Y' for 2000. I believe the 4wds and 2wds have different filters and the guy was sticking on the wrong one.
