Have an issue that i have been dealing with for a year or so now. It has not effected daily driving till this week. On long trips where i start out with a full tank of fuel, the gauge will fall steadily through the trip till it hits half tank. it will then run back up to full tank, drop to a quarter to empty and stay there till the next refuel. Luckly I know my Hwy milage to the tank and I have just dealt with it.

It has started to do the same in around town driving with the exception of getting stuck on half a tank and staying there no matter the fuel level at the time.

I see there is a recall for the cluster for my model, but my VIN does not fit within the recalled lot.

Any ideas?

Scan for DTCs see if you have a P0463 fuel level sensor circuit... if not chances are you have a bad IPC.. its more of a special policy coverage than a recall to wher GM knows theres an issue and the were covering the parts and labor to have them replaced only I forget what was the cut off time was but you couldn't have exceeded more than 70k miles

Well that may be a problem, it started around the 100k mileage mark.
