04 Tahoe Center COnsole ?'s

I just bought an 04 and of course want to make a change or two to start with. In front of the center console cup holders there are two cubbies, for lack of a better word. I'd like to put maybe one or two LED's in the larger bottom cubby, mainly to see what the heck I might have in there. There's a stabilitrack button above the cubby and I was planning to tap that light circuit for the LEDS. Anyone know how difficult it is to remove the section to install the lights ?

I haven't tried any disassembly yet, so I wonder if any else has modified or installed anything else in that position - maybe an LCD screen or GPS.

Here's a pic of a 8" Pioneer monitor I installed in the location I believe you are talking about. Pull straight out on the "cubby pockets" and it should come right out.

That's a great install, very clean, look's similar to an 04, I'll give it a shot. I like the cup holders better than mine, mine are off to the passenger side and are too big. I wonder if the 01 insert will fit. If you have time can you measure the outside dimension and I can determine if the size is the same as an 04. Knowing GM, they're different of course.

Thanx. That install is actually in an 03 Yukon, which has the same style interior as your 04. It was one I did in a customer's vehicle a while back. And the cupholders are made from scratch, which is why they are not in the same spot.
