hello all... new guy here. just got a deal on an 02 black z71. traded an 01 jeep cherokee + 3000$ for it. needs a little bit of TLC but I am a shade tree machanic so I took a chance and so far I love it

biggest issue Im having right now is it sputters really bad upon take off. anything under 2500rpms it acts like it is running out of fuel and stalls spits and sputters. as soon as you floor the gas and get past low rpms it takes off like its got a stall in the transmission.

upon doing research I have narrowed it down to 3 different things it could be. I am gonna put a new fuel filter on it tonight. also I thought it might be the TPS or the intake maniflold gaskets.

any info would be greatly appreciated.... thanks!

Before replacing the intake manifold gaskets, I recommend that you get a mechanic to smoke the motor to see if you really have a leak. Can save a lot of effort and grief.

my plan was to actually get some carb cleaner and spray it around the intake while idling and if the engine revved up I know Ive got a leak somewhere

one thing I noticed tonight is that when it runs bad the service engine soon like is on and blinking and if its running fine the light is off

Go ahead and try the spray around the intake manifold, but I would also clean the MAF sensor and throttle body before replacing or condemning anything else. The next thing to check would be the O2 sensors.
