01Yuk window&lift gate problems

I have a 01 Yukon4wd 5.3...my passenger front window will not come down. You can see the dash lights dim when you hit the button and hear a clicking sound in the door. Not sure if it is stuck (have tried pushing down on it qwhile someone hits the button) or a switch or something is gone?? HELP
2nd problem id my liftgate will not lock and the window will not open when you press the button?? Anyone had these problems and can help a NEWBIE out i would APPRECIATE IT!!!

For your first question, it sounds like the motor is bad. The dimming of the lights is your motor trying to spin and drawing alot of current, you should not try it to often. You might be able to get it to spin if you bang on the door, but it will do it again. as for the second question. I had the same thing happen to mine, but I also had the button was pushed in at the same time, somehow the push button on the inside came out of alignment, all I had to do was take the cover off and put it back, If you or someone you know is mechanically inclined you should be able to figure it out. If memory serves me correct you probably have four plugs and an 8mm bolt to remove to gain access.

Might want to look into a broken window regulator unit, that is exactly what happened to my Yukon. The cable started coming undone and got all balled up in the rollers, unhook the window motor and see if the motor works when unhooked from the regulator. Either way, to replace either of them is really simple and easy, get yourself a repair manual and do it yourself and save some coin!!

I had the same problem with my liftgate on my 06 Tahoe. I posted the same problem on this forum and JKMotorsports said that it was a bad door lock actuator or an actuator going bad and that's exactly what it was.
