01 tahoe won't start

was driving last weekend and it started sputtering and cut off and will not resart.. got it home and drained tank. put new fuel in, changed filter and can hear the fuel pump turn on.( also replaced that last year.) still trys to crank and sometimes it will strt and run for about 3/4 seconds.... will start with either but shuts off once burned off.. any ideas on issue??? thanks in advanced for any help.:happy160:

Any code info? Since it starts on ether, that rules out ignition problems. I would focus on injectors etc. being trashed up.

sounds like a crank or cam sensor. check for codes. even if the light isn't on there might be pending codes. if the crank sensor goes bad then some vehicle will shut off injectors. that's part of the primary ignition.

Check your fuel pressure regulator. It's easy to change.

I also would like to say that first you should Check your fuel pressure regulator, Than if its a still showing problem then you can check other parts one by one.
