01 tahoe oil pressure gauge constantly moving!

my oil pressure gague constantly moves, at a stop is worse and after take of it seems to stop but at idle or a stop it does it, i have correct oil and i checked it constantly but i have no idea what it might be, any ideas?

my 2000 does the same thing. at idle speed its really eratic and bounces all over the place. when im doing 1500-2000rpm (cruising speeds) it seems to be more steady. i am guessing its the oil sending unit, also called the oil pressure switch (i believe) thats the culprit. its the sensor that actually sends the info to the guage. same thing happened on my z24 years ago and swapping it out solved the issue.

I agree, it is more than likely the sending unit since it is moving a good bit. If the pressure drops at idle when warm and stays low you could have issues internally. If that wound up being the case it would pay to take a sample of the oil and send it in for analysis. This will tell you if you have excess amounts of wear metals as a result of bearing wear, etc.
