alright, my moms got a 96 2 door 2wd blue hoe and right now she was discussing possibly buying a newer, used tahoe.
specifically the body style from 00-06 and she definitely wants 4wd.. the 2wd on her tahoe sucks.
i dont have to worry cuz i have a jeep grand cherokee ;)
i went on autotrader and found numerous ones for about 9k-12k..
is there anything we should look (out) for when looking at them or even possibly test driving? any common issues at higher mileage?
and how long do these tend to last (mileage)
my moms is at 140xxx miles and its held up fine, but had a tranny rebuild at 130k miles.
the ones we were looking at were anywhere from 80-130k miles..

Buy one in decent shape with lower miles, you'll have to rebuild the trans and the front end at some point but it will run forever. Stay away from salvage/flood trucks due to the level of electronics, 4wd works great on these trucks.

Tie rods, balljoints, pitman and idler arms. I'd take it in and get it checked out for play in those components and if they're ok buy a cognito pitman/idler brace and it will prolong their life immensely
