Hi...
Does anyone know if you can add cruise control to a 1999 Tahoe 2-Door CUCV that never had it from the factory?
If so, what parts would I have to obtain?
Thanks...!
Hi all...
A year and a half later - still having the problem after replacing both front hub sensors...
Though now when I start it cold, the ABS dash warning light turns on 'bright' for 2-3 seconds, then dims significantly and stays lit for about 5 minutes until I reach operating temperature -...
Well...had my mechanic install new AC Delco right and left ABS wheel sensors today...did not resolve the problem.
Dim ABS Dash Warning Light still illuminated.
No ABS codes.
Any more ideas...?:smokin:
ABS Light
Well...I will give it a try!
I ordered AC Delco Speed Sensors for both sides - will get them installed and see what happens...will let you know.
Thanks...
Speed sensors
Thanks for the info - I know nothing about speed sensors...think my mechanic is trying to make some $ off me.
Yes, my '99 Tahoe has 4-wheel drive also.
So, how many speed sensors are there and where do they mount?
Could you give me a few more details having done it...
Thanks for the info Arcane - - - my mechanic said the speed sensor was built into the bearings and would cost about $380 plus labor to replace - just doing both sensors would cost over $1000.00 = is that what you experienced?
I own a 1999 Tahoe 2-door. When I start it cold, the ABS dash warning light turns on 'bright' for 2-3 seconds, then dims significantly and stays lit the entire time the engibe is on.
There is only one fault code for some type of 'swtich' fault a mechanic said who scanned it.
The other day...
Temp. Gauge Inaccurate
Well..I replaced the sender unit as suggested...got some improvement - now from a cold start it normally progresses up to about 225 degrees (1 line to the right of 220) and stays there pretty much stable.
Not sure if that is good or bad...?
At least it is closer to...
Door actuator connector
I already checked with my local Chevy dealer...he pulled up the 1999 schematic on the door assembly...they did not sell the connectors seperately - only the entire door wiring harness, and since it is a 13 year old part - they no longer stock it.:whymewhyme:
Anyone...
Hi...
Both my front right and left door actuators don't work on my '99 Tahoe.
I pulled off the inner door panel and observed they had been changed out already by a previous owner, but were replcaed by non-OEM parts and the power connectors on the door wiring harness(es) cut-off and the...
Door actuator
I wouldn't mind seeing a couple pics of the actuator connectors to see how they fit together - I am replacing one and they cut the connector wires off the last time around...:help:
Hi...Last year I bought a 1999 Tahoe 2-door 4x4...the temperature gauge normally rises from 0 at cold start and then holds right at 160 degrees winter or summer.
Thinking a lower temp thermostat was put in...I had a new OEM 195 degree thermostat installed with a recent coolant flush. The...
Hi...I had several bulbs burned out in my instrument cluster of my 1999 Tahoe 2-door. In reading some posts and viewing a few Youtube videos - I grasped the concept of how to remove the instrument panel to replace the bulbs...by pulling the dash panel - taking out the 4 mounting bolts - and...
Hi...
The A/C in my Tahoe seems like it needs a partial recharge - at highway speeds when you would expect the best performance - it is just moderately 'cool' - not 'cold' like when you have a full freon charge on a new car. Gonna be 95 degrees today here in Chicago - was thinking some...
Hi All...
I'm not a mechanic, but I try to do less complex repairs myself to save money as many do these days.
I have a 1999 2-door Tahoe with about 118,000 miles - which was modified for military use as a CUCV II.
I have been having fuel pump problems, and bought a new AC Delco unit...
