I'd say, save the $$ you'd spend on synth oil, and use those savings toward your new transmission. Yours should be going out in a few thousand miles. After all, it IS a 4L60E.

I just read a thread about moving from the 4L60e to a much tougher 4L80e, but there are a few wiring and driveshaft mods involved that seem to put it WAY over my DIY confidence level.
Hey, "withac"... you mentioned the 'VEtte mod; where could I find out more about that? Did you get a remanu'd trannie, or what?
I 'm thinking my torque converter went south, and delivered nice helpings of metal to the trannie.
