I hate the blue / purple HID look. Screams "ricer" and "look-at-me", IMO. I like 5000K, and I wouldn't go any bluer than that. Cops see the blue / purple ones and tend to pull them over more around here. I will stick with 4300K-5000K in my vehicles. The 5000K just have a tiny hint of blue...

Yup. I'm sure those same vendors would sell you just the proper harness you need with the H13/9008 connector, so you can get your setup working. Probably a better option than buying a whole new kit, yes? Also, I've seen harnesses available via eBay, but as you know, your mileage may vary...

Do you not see another three-pinned connector and a relay on there? That three-pinned connector connects to your factory wiring at the headlight, which controls on / off. If you don't have that, then you must have the wrong type of harness...and I'd understand why you're confused! :)
