yup, it's broken I ended up pulling the soft upper pad off the bottom part, laying a single strip of wood in the cavity and carefully wrapping the grab with black electricians tape. It doesn't look terrible and it actually feels pretty solid. Really bad design, ugh.

The grab handle (part of the interior door panel) is suddenly flexible and coming apart. The top section which is the softer vinyl lifts up easily exposing the parts inside. Looks like there is a white plastic reinforcement that used to be one piece and is now two. Is there a thread here that...
